Ness Generation Lineup 2018

Prepare to be blown away as NessGeneration, our youth group, hosts the Main Stage on Friday afternoon, bringing a mix of up-and-coming and seasoned performers between the ages of 13 and 21. These talented young entertainers always provide a WOW factor to appreciative and enthusiastic audiences.

Alyssa Scheffler

Born to a family of Ness Creek pioneers, Alyssa Scheffler takes the stage to showcase her love of music. The spirit of music therapy comes alive in creations that reflect life and the way we understand ourselves. This Saskatchewan native will take you along riverbanks and deep into the forest. Lean in and enjoy musical vulnerability with Alyssa in her first formal Ness Creek appearance.

The Sex GeckosThe Sex Geckos

The Sex Geckos are a bunch of psycho maniacs from Martensville, North Battleford and Warman. The 4 members seem to make up a modern day take on The Velvet Underground, conveying the same sense of chaotic, wild, energy with an innovative, raw, twist.

Grace Clark

Grace Clark is a vibrant eighteen year old musician from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Her love for music started with playing piano when she was 3 years old, followed by taking up fiddle at age 7. She quickly picked up the guitar and has blossomed into singing publicly and writing her own songs as a teenager. Her music has already taken her to exciting places; she was a cultural delegate with her fiddle quartet “Double Treble” at the 2016 Arctic Winter Games in Greenland. Her quartet has performed at Yellowknife’s summer music festival Folk On The Rocks and recently opened for The Jerry Cans. She has performed as a solo artist at the Yellowknife Snow Castle festival and regularly hosts open mic nights at a local coffee shop in Yellowknife. While Grace is a northern girl, she has ties to Saskatchewan through her mother’s family and has spent summers at the Ness Creek Festival and other events.

Jordy Hansen

Born and raised in small town Saskatchewan, Jordy picked up a guitar and started writing at the age of 13. Having taken vocal and piano lessons as a child, music has always been a major part of life and writing seemed to come easy, so it was only natural to move to the artistic city of Saskatoon where she now works on her music and academic studies. With her melancholy lyrics and dark yet upbeat melodies, Jordy's sound is a unique kind of folk music that focuses on her introspective poetry and interesting chord progressions.

Don't Reply

Hailing from the small bedroom community of Langham, Saskatchewan is the punk trio Don't Reply. Formed in 2014, the group is known for their unique take on pop-punk while incorporating aspects of grunge, hardcore, and alternative rock into their sound.

The TMC Trad Music CollectiveThe TMC: Trad Music Collective

The TMC: Trad Music Collective have played together close to a decade...a long time for their 19 years of life! Mentored by some of Canada's top trad folk players and groups, Juno award winning "The Fretless" and members of "The East Pointers" among them, they have begun writing their own tunes and arrangements, even composing the original score for the Globe Theatre Sandbox Series play "Paper" in 2016.

Justine Sletten is a Country Pop singer/songwriter but a small town Saskatchewan girl at heart. Justine released her debut EP, Groundbreaking, in July 2017 followed by a tour of 17 Western Canadian destinations. Justine was the 2016 winner of the CMAS Youth Star Search and the 2017 winner of the Medicine Hat Stampede Summer Star contest. Justine is excited about her future in the music industry and looks forward to another summer of sharing her music with audiences across the country.
